Thanks for the help! Hi! :D So, I'll suggest some of my faves based on your preferences: Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch (25 epis. it has a second season) - my all time favorite. It's seinen with a shounen vibe, lots of action, mecha and a fast pacing. Kyousou Giga (10 epis.) - it's a fantasy anime with beautiful colors and a Disney like art style. Can be a bit confusing, but it's interesting nonetheless. Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (26 epis. worth every single one) - one of the best animes that I watched last year, it's military/drama and the animation is awesome. If you choose this anime, you'll not regret it. Sakamoto desu ga? (12 epis.) - it's an episodic anime with really good comedy, srsly. This anime parodies gary stu characters in a fun and unpretentious way. |

Thanks for the help! Since you mentioned iyashikei I have to recommend Aria, which to many is the pinnacle of that genre. | @AWC_mod I have a question about #1. Watch an ONA or stand-alone OVA - stand-alone refers to no related anime; if it has an adaptation listed that's okay I entered THIS show but it had a sequel OVA. I'm not sure if the spirit of the challenge is that it has no related SERIES or no related anime ANYTHING, even a single episode sequel? If that one doesn't work I can find something else easily enough :-) |
| I'd like a RECOMMENDATION please! Something fairly new, 2011 up to 2016, preferably 1 cour but I don't mind watching something older/longer than 1 cour if the anime is really good. It would be nice to have a thought evoking/exciting anime but nothing too complicated, perhaps a mystery like Erased. I like how it made me guess what was going on and had me coming up with theories, but still the story line was still simple enough and wasn't convoluted. I also liked Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu - the story was really interesting and new to me, but it wasn't difficult to understand at all, even though I had no background knowledge on Rakugo. I also like anime that makes me look forward to the next episode because the characters are relatable. Like for example, I recently watched Victorian Romance Emma and the way her emotions were portrayed were so real for me. I felt her sadness, her jealousy - I was really affected by her story. I'm sorry if I seem picky, but I really want to discover an awesome anime recommendation. I hope I get a lot so I can get plenty to pick from - please don't hesitate to give me more than 1 recommendation! | I have a question regarding challenge 08 (watching a show from a director/storyboard artist/scriptwriter I'm not familiar with) Does this only concern their work in those three fields? I've spent more than half an hour browsing shows and always stumbled across people who did for example key animation on one episode of another show I saw, or storyboarded episode 7 of a show I dropped at episode 2. Are any kind of connections completely forbidden or am I just limited to their position? Is it okay to watch a show from a director who only directed once, but did various other stuff on some other show I completed for example? Edit: I found a show with a scriptwriter with no connections just now and will take it, but can somebody still clarify this to me, please? |

| I managed to find anime compatible with my restrictions (no anime anime with relations to anime i've already watch, or plan to watch for challenge, and avoiding long anime and anime with slow pacing because having to finish everything makes it bothersome if a more attention demanding anime pushed it into "permahold") but still got 2 more slots to fill. 43: Watch an anime with a main character that is a professional in his field and 59: Watch an anime recommended to you in the challenge discussion thread i prefer anime with good ecchi (the kind that flows together with the story instead of being in the way), supernatural/fantasy and good comedy, and preferably 1 cour, at most 2 cours if it's paced in a way it's very hard to take a break from, because i tend to have quite some problems returning to anime i take a break from |
