Theres a grey and white beard your character can get when rolling for pirates that is for some reason not a hair dye Figured since ya stopped those random facts at the end of videos I might aswell carry the torch lol
I always feel like Sunken Sorrow wearers tend to be more chill or low-key. Not necessarily always friendly, but I've had a lot more positive interactions with crews who have one player with it on than others, and generally dont get the "sweaty hourglass grinder (who may or may not still be bad at the game)" vibe from them.
Well you can just take the chest with you and hide it with the mermaid statue so no matter what you can recover, even if they camp the location you can just server hop and your chest is still safe @@bobmcbob49
What i found funny is Sunken sorrows curse (Your get carried) Me in a different time zone then my friends: well if you want something done, you got to do it yourself
I consider myself a chill sunken curse wearer. Most other wearers I've met tend to be that way as well. I said "Hello, how are you" to a guy who boarded my three man brig fully intent on killing him the second anything went wrong and he said "Oh you seem to nice to kill" and sword hopped off the ship. It left me and my crew mates dumb founded.
ah yes, the gold curse. the boomers of the sea of thieves; I remember when i got mine 5 years ago… wait 5 years ago? that can’t be right. oh well sea of thieves i’ll come back to you one day
my favorite type of player is the person wearing the gold hourglass curse of their choosing with the opposite title saying hourglass sucks and they'd never grind the mode
I've personally found that the Rusted Skulls set works well with the sunken curse, simply because it has that "cursed drowned pirate using scraps for clothing" vibe. I kinda like it. Probably the only outfit I'd use with Sunken Curse simply because 1: I'm not wasting more money than I have on the game and I am not that lucky with ancient skellies to get the outfit you mentioned, and 2: I kinda like making outfits that fit a theme. Also I just like the aesthetic of a fallen/cursed/drowned pirate that isn't just- a ghost. Then again, I'm the weirdo that actually likes the siren shrines and doesn't mind ocean crawlers, and likes the coral loot for its addition to the selling sound, also grinded for the Sunken Sorrows set, and finally, on the maybe less weird side, actually loved the Pirate's Life tall tales. Side note: To be fair, none of these stereotypes fit me. I just go for a random appearance and change it as I play in order to have a thematically fitting outfit that I like or something tailored to what my friends and I are doing in-game. I also mix-and-match outfits half the time unless parts of an outfit don't really fit other sets. Current curses include: Ashen & Sunken Sorrow, and not all of my outfits even use either of them.
As the one who carried my crewmates to getting the curse of sunken sorrow, I reject being included in the stereotype. But I did make a gold skeleton have a meltdown by chainshotting his galley's masts with my sloop while my allies' ship got away and sold. While they were busy shit-talking and spawn killing me, I was watching my gold go up. Because I do have a better battle sense than the guy who got a curse for sailing in a circle fighting 1 ship with no loot involved.
Pretty accurate! I tend to find that the people who use the PL curse tend to have both PvP curses (even though they got it in season 1) and are now just here to tdm and get distinction 5 in reapers and Athena’s. But they never wear either of their PvP curses because they hate that the ghost is a glow stick and that the skelly doesn’t know how to walk without sounding like a heard of elephants.
I got the PL curse from the battlepass and I use it because: "Glowy eyes... Yes... Feeling cool". In all seriousness I just like how the PL curse can be incorporated into a lot of outfits without standing out too much :D
Truthfully, the folks ive ran in to (including myself) who use the Sunken Curse tend to be a lot more relaxed and more in for the game than the players. Granted this is Biased since I got my curse later, but the guy who helped me find the journals was a seasoned Fisherman who wore the Sunken Curse and was a chill guy overall. The lack of sense can be..uh..a little to accurate though😅
Honestly I use the ashen curse and I am super chill and I won't initiate the fight but I do indeed suck in the game lol Also the gold curse describes my friend so well lol
When I first started I actually grinded for the sunken curse cause I bought the sting set during that bp lol amazing vid tho it was very entertaining I loved it!
Sunken curse user here, I like to think I’m pretty chill and always willing to help out the new guys :) but I do occasionally let my mouth run before my brain can stop itself lmao. I also just really enjoy going with the flow for the most part, wether it be pvp or just vibing :)
I mean your right but you gotta think that means they are probably new. Actually no they are always new I used to do the same thing back then now I use sunken. But don't be so harsh on ashen users they are definitely new and you don't wanna ruin the game for them.
Sunken Curse here, I just use it because I can’t be bothered getting ghost even tho I’m good at pvp. Also a sunken curse guy I met had a ship called “Local Chippy” and I gave him some chests and he gave me some cooked trophy fish in return. Sunken Curse dudes are chill. That guy had some sick cosmetics on like he was dressed like a samurai with the sunken curse and I’m a b-tech ghost curse XD
scuse me I grinded the entire sunken curse on my day off thank you very much. Twas my friend bill bob that joined as I was opening the final vault lmao
I don't use it much because theres just better options usually, but i have used the creeping stone curse from time to time as a pseudo silver variant of the gold curse. It's not perfect, but it can work pretty well
In truth, I got the Storm Curse so that i Could Stand out from my Brother Since he likes to Rock the Ashen Curse. The contrast of Colors looks well. Plus it goes hard with the Azure Ocean Crawler Set
I've never seen anyone wear either of the stone curses and I don't wear them often either. The only time I did wear it was to cosplay as Mr. Arrow from Treasure Planet.
As a guy who loves the ashen and ghost curse its funny as hell when people come attack me when got my ashens on. However i busted my back to get the ghost curse unlike others. Dice rolls are rare with me lol.
I feel like the Legendary Curse users are WAY scarrier than ghost or skele curse users in my experience. Like the legendary curse doesnt take much more effort to get than the ghost, but just the energy everyone with it has is completely different. It screams, "I'm a motherfucker and a half and I dont need a flashy full body filter to show it", literal embodiment of letting actions speak louder than words. Whenever I find someone with it on an open crew, theyre always super chill and I know I'm in good hands if we get into a scuffle
Got wrecked by a gold curse skele crew in hourglass a few days ago, nicest pvp sweats i have ever met, and even helped give some tips to my noob friends too :)
I just bought the storm curse cause I wanted to and I kinda liked it and im a collector. I'll get any curse I can get my hands on. I figured id wear it now and then but its barely noticable with clothes on and is only noticable at night. Its mid. But im obsessed with my ghost curse and no matter what I cant get myself to change to another curse for a single session. I worked hard for that ghost curse and I love it and I just cant imagine going without it for too long XD
I use the sunken curse and my game sense is horrendous. The amount of times I’ve been boarded solo skipping and saw someone on my ship just to have that cartoonish “wait a minute” reaction. Didn’t get carried to it though, proud to say that much
Interesting stereotypes. Personally wear the Storm Curse. Had no idea it was purchased. Thought i unlocked it for hunting storm fish so much and riding storms often. It was free.
I swap between no curse and skeleton curse quite often because i have two distinct looks that i like on my pirate. My skeleton is has the reaper robes, ashen legs and bombhead while my regular pirate has midnight blades mask, order of souls female hair, daring deceiver dress, dark adventurer female makeup and some other cosmetics i cant remember. (also skeletons need to get the Reaper Hood cosmetic that looks very similar to humerus'. plus like.. many more skele cosmetics between lvl 350 and 1000 in PvP lol)
Also the game will glitch and give you voyages you aren’t supposed to have sometimes, I’ve only ever done one sunken shrine and randomly had the sunken kingdom voyage, then it disappeared before I did it and then it popped back up in my voyage list and did it, I only read the books in the shrines during the voyage, I shouldn’t have the curse but I don’t use it anyway
I do agree with many of these takes, but I thought i could add on from my experiences with other players 1: Ashen curse users are either what u said, or new & scared of everything that might have a trace of another player 2: Sunken curse users have almost always been a ship's captain 3: PL curse users are almost always chill, but they will destroy you if you think about messing with them Again, I have come across players of your takes, but these are my experiences with players. Great video!
friend with pl curse who absolutely dose not the stereotype hes just a goober who does anything thats funny in the moment and fighting is always a last resort for us
actually valid this is the best stereotype video ive seen beacause most of them talk about pvp curse users being scary ect which is just not true most of them still are bad at the game because the curses dont take skill you only need time to get the curses and some of them are loss farmed boosted or got by running away for 2 hours and then winning because the enemy team doesnt have supplies anymore a side note is that i hate runners if they dont give a good reason for it like their tm8 getting disconnected or something
Sunken curse: I carried my friends with that voyage Storm curse: got it cause I felt like it and I like the look of it Ashen Curse: Me and my friend got it cause we wanted a story curse OoS curse: next on our list We dont have the rest (yet)
I personally am a very chill sunken curse user and I just play with friends and fish (I fished a lot before this new season no just because of the new season)
man, dood nailed me first thing huh? I rarely use curses, I like collecting every cosmetic i can, and I do, in fact, find the ashen curse ugly lol you win this round
I don't know what kind of stereotype I fit. I use the skeleton curse and I have most of the cosmetics. Yet I'm not a big PVP guy. I don't trash talk. I much prefer helping new players through tall tales. I would much rather just explore the details of an island Instead of looking for treasure. I think my stereotype should be called. the goodie bone guy XD
The skelly bucket head has been replaced by the obsidian skull with the arrow mohawk btw. A number of naked gold skellies iv come across wear that combo now.
Ive noticed that skelly curse player tend to be much better at the game then ghost curse player, simply due to the curse being harder to see making it more practical
Ill be real, I didnt even know that sunken voyage for would even get me a curse, it was just me and 2 other people figuring we'd get some good money from it since it was 5 length
For some reason I just never unlocked the ashen curse despite having skelly curse and shores of gold but for real no shores of gold curse user wears a shirt its actually kind of funny
I was a sunken curse user before I got my skelly curse so I'd like to add something. I earned that voyage. Journals and all. People who worked for that voyage will know the game pretty well after it and deserve a bit more respect for it. The sting tide version one or two looks great with the curse but version three removes your curse for some reason
Firstly i couldnt help but chuckle when you introduced your name as "consumetheburger". Personally, as a non curse user, i simply like being the more simple player cosmetically. I do have acouple curses (ashen, sea, stone), but i enjoy the simplicity of being the normal looking player. I do hope one day to get ghost curse (but i am terrible at pvp), but as.of now, ill keep curse free. Thirdly, love your little art snippits throughout the video, its a nice touch to get your points forward instead of just using footage of the curses alone
as a fairly new player and current gold curse grinder, i'd say gold curse folks are indeed just done playing. :') having to beat the same tall tale 5 times is insanely tedious with the ungodly amount of sailing up and down across the map. hell i'm planning to complete hunters call for the legendary hunter title too and i am slowly starting to understand why it's so rare... if you ever run into a fat bearded pirate with a bucket on his head, just casually fishing on his "Just A Fishing Boat". Because it's hard to get the curse if you're going to throw a tantrum every time someone attacks your ship while you're in a shrine.
I got the curse and I sorta fit this description XD
People always say they can’t find anything to match it u just gotta make a wacky outfit with a theme and it works

Sunken sorrows curse

Me in a different time zone then my friends: well if you want something done, you got to do it yourself
You could have added to the sunken curse, 'You used a walkthrough to find all the journals, didn't you? 😏"
bonus points if you had someone place the voyage for you and then leave
Absolutely, it was still a lot of fun though lol
I consider myself a chill sunken curse wearer. Most other wearers I've met tend to be that way as well. That gold curse stereotype was WAY too accurate, like I rarely play the game and barely level up hourglass and is a fat tucker in full black
Lmao, me 2. Guy just described me 100% accurate, scary shit.
The only thing different for me is I were white
Every single gold curse user I’ve met has been so unbelievably kind in the complete opposite of a toxic player
ah yes, the gold curse. the boomers of the sea of thieves; I remember when i got mine 5 years ago… wait 5 years ago? that can’t be right. oh well sea of thieves i’ll come back to you one day
lmao this is too accurate
It's because when you get the gold curse 5 seasons have already passed
Bro cooked, deep fried, baked, smoked, steamed, defrosted, me with the storm strike curse I just like the way it looks😭😭😭
my favorite type of player is the person wearing the gold hourglass curse of their choosing with the opposite title saying hourglass sucks and they'd never grind the mode

I use Ashen because it fit's my current outfit but I fight mostly in defence to be honest
As the one who carried my crewmates to getting the curse of sunken sorrow, I reject being included in the stereotype.

I’m sorry but glowing eyes go well with my clown makeup
As someone who wears the Gold Curse... that is incredibly accurate
The no curse explained me almost to a T except instead of being new I’m just to lazy to get a curse lol.
Bro nailed the gold curse for me. 😂
Me a newbie that is trying to unlock the skelly curse seeing this video: YESSIRR!
Btw nice outro song you have earned my sub
2:10 holy shit he’s right that would look amazing… how did I never think of this?
I got the PL curse from the battlepass and I use it because: "Glowy eyes... Yes... Feeling cool". In all seriousness I just like how the PL curse can be incorporated into a lot of outfits without standing out too much :D

The golden skelly and PL one feels too accurate 💀
I'm actually scared how much of a call out the gold curse was

The gold curse is soooooo true!
Honestly I use the ashen curse and I am super chill and I won't initiate the fight but I do indeed suck in the game lol
Also the gold curse describes my friend so well lol
To be fair the storm strike curse isnt locked behind a bundle, it can be sold separately for 249 ancient coins which is about 4 or 5 dollars
Me, a sunken curse user: oh hey! My curse!
*Gets absolutely obliterated by this stereotype despite not fitting it*
Oh! It's spicy in here today
In the case of no curse, don't forget the third type of "it didn't fit my cosmetics" player
Damn, if ashen curse is seen as “always strikes first kids” then I must be an outcast.
My first flex of sea of thieves is that i can say i unlocked the voyage myself
You definitely have it right, my main outfit is sting tide + sunken curse XD
When I first started I actually grinded for the sunken curse cause I bought the sting set during that bp lol amazing vid tho it was very entertaining I loved it!

Golden ghost players are one of two people, cheaters, or the one guy that is both the chillest person and most terrifying person ever
As I tell every Ashen boat I see as they sink, “Ashen is Cringe”. Thumbs up for this part of the video alone
I mean your right but you gotta think that means they are probably new. Actually no they are always new I used to do the same thing back then now I use sunken. But don't be so harsh on ashen users they are definitely new and you don't wanna ruin the game for them.

Hey! I see you in the SoT discord. You seem to be a cool guy.

also good vid! Keep it up

I use creeping stone curse because it looks better than solid, it kinda works with my pirates blind eye, and im still working for ghost

Every pirate with the pl curse is mid 20 and a god at PvP, usually 1 or 2 gold curses
I use the ashen curse and I’m literally the stereotype lol
I just realized how different I am from every other person who uses the sunken curse 😭
the ghost curse one is so true
1:46 Now i regret grinding all sanctuaries and all that stuff solo
I use the ghost curse however my favorite is the Curse of Sunken Sorrow, A.K.A. the Whispering Plague. And I'm just like the 2 no curse stereotype.
usin the stone curse with the bucket on the head lets me cosplay as let me solo her from elden ring, therefore the best curse
Ok but Sunken Sorrow is peak for the LORE. Also it does look good idc. But mostly I love the lore
sunken curse lore does go crazy
